Happy to be back in the US! the past days we made a nice trip to Georgia and South Carolina. We visited the historical town of Savannah, Boone plantation in South Carolina and the old town of Bluffton and Hilton Head Island.
Savannah - River side
Savannah is located at the Savannah river and has an important Atlantic seaport.
Savannah historic district
We took a trolley tour and visited the beautiful historical district of Savannah.
Tybee Island
A couple of miles out of Savannah you find Tybee Island. A nice hideaway to spend the day. We had a great lunch at the Crab Shack, a nice spot on the waterfront.
Boone hall plantation
Boone hall plantation is a beautiful preserved and still working plantation close to Charleston in South Carolina. You can take an interesting tour into the house and around the farming grounds. In 'Slave street' you experience the old days when slavery was still a topic and we listened to the interesting story of the Gullah, the so called African American Slaves.
Bluffton & Hilton Head Island
Bluffton is a small artistic town with a nice center. Close by you find Hilton Head Island, with white sanded beaches, nice shops and great golf courses. You can easily spent a day strolling around, climb the lighthouse and have a nice lunch with Seaview.
